There are different police sirens in towns and outside.

About this topic there are masses of experts and freaks, as you can see on YT.
For details of German police I can ask my brother-in-law.

This kind of hand sirens were used by the air raid protection in WWII, but they are still existing in many fire stations:

At my Bundeswehr time a moron has used it in our sleeping room - terrible (for our ears and his nose)

When Roger Alm, president of Volvo Trucks, stars in a JCVD-like role for an ad
The Tower, feat. Roger Alm.

(The making-of is also interesting, showing the "Tower" in the daylight...)

Sorry, your feeling is wrong - neither me is visible there, nor my car, my wife or our doggie.
Actually I think, because we were the second or third car in the convoi and have already parked before Guillaume started to film.

Must be strange feeling to drive a concept car . Thrilling as you're driving something unique but at the same time, you don't want to be the one to break something on it...

They are pretty rare, only offered a few years in the 80s as a competitor to the Toyota Tercel/Corolla All-Trac and Subaru wagons.

There was a brief phase when all the automakers were scrambling to ad 4WD to their cars. I believe Ford offered the Tempo with it at one point. I think GM offered it on the Pontiac 6000.

i think the 6000's was more like an automatic AWD system, not that the driver had to engage himself ... but not fully sure

This video is crazy, a train carrying Ford SUVs, didn't quite clear a low train bridge in Memphis, Tennessee. The top of the train cars peeled off, crushing the Explorers and other cars underneath. And since it's a train, it couldn't stop for a while, so multiple train cars were damaged.
