First car you ever drove

Everyone here seems luckier than I was, my dad never let me drive anything until I reached the legal age of 17 and got my provisional licence.
Same for me

That damn Ford Prefect I've mentioned elsewhere ... don't tell anyone, I took it on the road before I was 17, at the instigation of a school friend. I hated that car ever since ...

It was a black with silver trim 80s-era Chevy pickup C-10 Scottsdale or such that belonged to my step-brother. I must've been at 8 or 10. He also had an 85 Buick Regal which was probably a stick, but I rode around in it enough to get an early start to liking Buicks.

I drove my parents Cortina Mk3 through a neighbours garage when I was about 11 while my mum was taking the shopping in, luckily they were on holiday & dad fixed their garage door before anyone noticed LOL
I got caught by the police driving a Mk2 Escort Ghia when I was 15... I got off with a caution luckily!
I brought a Vauxhall Viva HB just before my 16th birthday[much to my dads anger! he`s put up with so much from me over the years!]. This wasnt ready when I passed my test[I was still customising it!]
The 1st car I legally drove was a Fiat 126 [WGN122W if i remember correctly].

Ford fans will love this, a Ford Aerostar. Called the Big Blue Box. It was totaled after a guy ran into it. My stepdad went from the Aerostar to a 1998 Toyota 4Runner. Not a bad upgrade.

The first "car" was my three-wheeler pedal car. Not an ordinary three-wheeler, but built in the Morgan car style: one wheel at the rear, chain driven, two at the front with a steering wheel and real drag link steering. It had Dunlop tyres, a bicycle style saddle and a hand-brake -- which was usually broken, but who needs a brake at the age of five when you race your friends in their go-carts? I usually won! It was a present for my second birthday. Couldn't reach the pedals then, but once I could I loved this little racer.
The first big car I steered sitting on my dad's lap. It was an old VW and I was six or seven.
I was twelve when I first drove myself. It was in our family's Austin Maxi on Pendine Sands ... a rather famous place to start driving ...
The following years it was back to muscle power again using a race-bike.
I really learned to drive on a driving-school VW Golf I and shortly after that for a second time on a Bundeswehr MB 1017A.
Having a driver's licence I first drove my family's Fiat 131 Mirafiori -- a bit sluggish until you revved it ... -- and a Bundeswehr MAN 464 KAT 1, an 8x8 monster that was really fun to drive off-road!
My first own car was an old VW 1302S.

When I was 8, my brother (9) gave me driving lessons in my Dad's 1934 Chrylser CB6. I did not get a license [didn't think I needed one] until I was 24.

First car I was supposed to drive must have been an early Opel Kapitän or Admiral of the 1st generation, but the engine didn´t start.
First car I ever drove in fact was most likely a dover white over wood rose 1959 Cadillac Coupe de Ville back in 1993. About 9 months later I received my driving licence.

My mum's 1995 Honda Civic. It was one of those European ones that are based on the Honda Domani, the same as the last generation Rover 400/45. Not really a real Civic. It was horrible to drive. Terrible turning circle, especially for a relatively small car and horrible jerky clutch. It was bought in August 1999 at a Honda dealer for £6600, then flogged at an auction for £325 in March 2006. Last time I checked it's still taxed. Registration was N627 JGD.

My dad's Chrysler LeBaron wagon. It seemed extremely big (which it was) and powerful (which it wasn't). I just did a few laps around the lawn. I think I was 13 or 14.

Some years after my first experience with the Audi 100 Typ 43 from the neighbour, my father let me drive his 1977 Audi 80 on an empty parking-lot. I was 15 then.

First car I ever steered: my uncle let me sit in his lap while I steered his '55 Chevy Bel Air on a back road in Talladega Alabama (yes, *that* Talladega).
First car I ever drove on a highway was my mother's 1977 Ford Country Squire station wagon.
