One of the best films ever made about the nightclub scene, set in Paris circa 1934, starring Julie Andrews, Robert Preston, James Garner, and Lesley Anne Warren. Andrews' character plays an out of work singer with a "legitimate" voice, who hits it big in the City of Light's gay underworld drag circuit.

Preston is delightful as the aging diva crooner, guiding Andrews', "woman, playing a man, playing a woman," straight to the top of Paris' nightlife. A must-see if for no other reason than Ms. Andrews' incredible voice, the classy onstage numbers and the few fine cars sprinkled about.

Speaking of cars, the first we see is an Isotta-Fraschini Landaulet Town Car, which needs further scrutiny; the chauffeur's compartment has window frames around the doors, but it has the same length in the backseat area as the I-F in "Sunset Boulevard." I believe the I-F in "Rebecca" is one of these two cars, probably the latter.

I saw this film at the theater when it first came out; I screen it every time it's on TCM, and have been cherry-picking lines from it ever since. You'll really love Ms. Warren as the ditzy, bottle-blonde, "It Girl" Norma, who steals every scene she's in.

Just like the Classic Cars in this flic, "they just don't make 'em like this anymore."
