So what is the deal with replicas? Is imcdb policy to file them originating from the country of the car they're copying? Or from where the copy design actually initiated? Is 'inspiration' what counts as origin? So a Pontiac-based Ferrari is originating from Italy? Or US?

Well I just tried to add the real Ferrari Daytona appearing in the Miami Vice pilot as a background car. This car is not the Corvette replica used from that point on and until the end of the series. Got rejected.

I'm not sure we've ever had a formal decision on this. It's probably easier to have the origin as country of the original car because for many replicas we can spot it's a fake, but not who faked it or therefore its origin (random examples off the top of my bald head - Porsche 356, MG TF, Bugatti T35, Countachs, probably a few Ferraris, Miura wannabees etc).

OK got that.
Now how about that 'Netzer' Dino.. are all his cars Netzer specials or is imcdb infiltrated by Gladbach fans? :dawafigti:

Hello, possibly missed inside the small flood of comments on my part
See comments in pages

http://imcdb.org/vehicle.php?id=341251 ..meant that most probably Sprint GT/105.02, less probably a Veloce/105.36

http://imcdb.org/vehicle.php?id=1060652 ..'68-70 GT Junior 2a serie

http://imcdb.org/vehicle.php?id=309822 ..the rest of them are simply "Touring", so for uniformity "Carrozzeria" could be dropped, is a bit much (officially these were just GTC's anyway)

http://imcdb.org/vehicle.php?id=328497 ..as above

edit: deleted those already addressed

thanks

For the first one, unless it is/was Herbert or Josef Schnitzer's own car (as in the 'Netzer' Dino?) must be some really 'stealthy' Schnitzer BMW as I don't see anything 'tuned' in this car - the little decal doesn't look like a Schnitzer logo either. Very comprehensive site www.e12.de has nothing on this either. Perhaps original contributor knows something about this car we don't.. hmm

As for the second one seems no one sees the period standard base-version E28 plastic hubcap on this wheel but me

you mean we should remove the "Schnitzer" extra info?
(comments aren't always so explicit :D)
