Post pictures of your rides - from Google Earth ;)

By surfing around, I've found out, that my Opel Omega B and my wife's Opel Astra G are visible at Google Earth!

Here's the link (hopefully it works):

http://maps.google.de/maps?f=q&hl=de&geocode=&q=Edelrosenstrasse+17,+Aplerbeck+4- 4289+Dortmund,+Dortmund,+Nordrhein-Westfalen,+Deutschland&sll=51.472346,7.596337&sspn=0.000561,0.000952&ie=UTF8&ll=- 51.472654,7.596851&spn=0.00014,0.000238&t=h&z=22

I'm quite sure, that the pic was made on an Sunday in early spring 2005. The location was the apartment-house, where I lived until August 2005. No green trees and bushes, so early spring. 2005, because the Omega was bought in March 2004 and the Astra in September 2004. Sunday, because at that time my wife lived in annother town and only at weekends, she was with me.

 That is quite neat ingo!
You can just see the white colored top of our '70 Volkswagen Bus in our driveway on google maps. (Sorry I cannot post a link, but I tried and it doesn't work)
Unfortunately, there are too many trees in the way to see any of our other six cars in the driveway. That's one of the bad things about living in Michigan, there's so many trees that obstruct the view of everything :ohwell:

Also, you really have an Opel Omega B?
That is one of my favorite cars! It was sold here as Cadillac Catera from 1997-2001. But I prefer the Holden Commodore version, and even better the luxurious long wheelbase Holden Caprice :bave:

Ingo >> The image quality in your area is nice. To make the link work you should add and around it (without spaces).

Possibly my car on the parking of my workplace:
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&q=004°18'17"+E+050°48'01"+N&ie=UTF8&t=k&om=- 1&ll=50.800708,4.303973&spn=0.000657,0.001452&z=20
the dark one in top left corner, at the side of the white one.
The "white" one is possibly the silver Lancia Ypsilon seen here behind my car:

appearing bigger due to light reflection

I can't see Ingo's cars, because Google Maps says it doesn't have imagery for the resolution required.

If you look to the left of antp's parking lot, you can see a train carrying new cars!

Yes, these are VW Golf and Audi A3
I see these trains from my window.
The factory is near where I work, just across the freeway

That's pretty cool! It's interesting how the cars on the train are open so you can see them. Here car carriers are closed so you cannot see the contents inside unfortunately

@Gag: do you can see it now? I've corrected the link and at my PC it works fine, even in the high resolution.

@antp: if you take a direct line Northeast from my cars, across the street on the right and the garden, you see a flat garage-building. Inside that, there are parked (unfortunately inside, when the pic was shot) a white 1968 Saab 96 and a red Sonett MK II.

I love Omegas too, the Omega A with the rear wheel half covered is lovely, not to mention the Caddy Catera... the Holden is not bad, its nice too but it changes too much from the original that it hardly resembles one, the other one i like a lot too is the Chevy Omega different front but still very similar to the Omega B, very nice.

I like the Omega A & B too, as well as the Holden Commodore based on them. Especially the VT/VX in "sport" version (HSV)

Well if you are refering to the Caprice than yes, it is quite different, but the smaller Commodore seems almost unchanged from the Euro Omega:

Chevrolet Omega? Where is this sold?

Did you know that there is another Omega/Commodore variant sold in the Middle East branded as the Chevrolet Lumina and Caprice?

http://www.alghanim.com/Automotive/images/CAPRICE 2004.jpg

They even use the Lumina as a police car in Dubai (also note the 1991 Caprice in the background, those are popular there also  )

Here is an Arab commercial for the new Chevrolet Caprice Royale :bave: (based on the new Holden Caprice)

The Caprice Royale is the best in my opinion, with its luxurious grill, hood ornamant, wheels, interior, etc... :bave:
