Please be advised that the bus you have listed in
'The Dark Corner'as being a Twin Coach Model 40 is
actually a 1933 Mack Model 'CL'

The bus, which is the real thing, carries fleet number A220
and was operating for the Avenue B and East Broadway Transit
Company and was usually seen on one of the company's two
downtown Manhattan routes (M8 or M9).

I have attached a better resolution photo for your edification.

The bus in the 'Cameraman' is not a Yellow Coach and was never 'Fifth Avenue'

In fact, the scene is very much 'backlot' Hollywood Studio with the incorrect
street signs and the #2 Fifth Avenue destination sign being a 'print shop
job' over the original cabinet.

Los Angeles Motor Coach ran some DD's at the time and this bus may have been
rented from them.

I'll dig a little on the chassis which could be any number of makes except
Fageol or Yellow.

I would certainly like to get a closer and clearer picture but
off the top of my head I would lean toward a Fitzjohn.

Fitzjohn was a lower grade manufacturer mostly for Canadian
consumption but did have a U.S. presence through the forties
and fifties.

Unfortunately, and as with other 'mediocre' makers in the
medium range, GM wiped them out and Fitzjohn's run ended in
1960.
