All P-RU638AA currently on IMCDb should be renamed "Blue Ribbon", with the current name moved to the chassis code.

https://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E6%97%A5%E9%87%8E%E3%83%BB%E3%82%BB%E3%83%AC%E3%8- 2%AC#%E3%83%96%E3%83%AB%E3%83%BC%E3%83%AA%E3%83%9C%E3%83%B3RU60%E3%83E3%83%BBRY63- %E7%B3%BB%E8%A6%B3%E5%85%89
https://www.imcdb.org/vehicles_make-Hino_model-P-RU638AA.html

Chassis code should be [P-RU638AA] or just [RU638AA] as the alphabet before the hyphen is for the emission code and not for the actual chassis.

I did not know that, and it could have repercussions. We've always copy-pasted codes from japanese Wiki articles, bus spotting sites and photo galleries without asking questions, and those codes can be so long they can't even fit into the chassis code field.

Maybe we could delete those emission codes altogether? After all, we don't enter them for japanese cars.

Those emission codes I think should be deleted altogether since they are not used for vehicle designation. Otherwise we'll have to spend a month adding "DAA-" to the model code of every 2005+ Prius and Aquas in Japan (as well as cars that were shipped to Mongolia/Kenya/NZ/etc), which would needlessly separate the J cars from their US and EU counterparts.

If any mod wants to know what kind of emission codes are there for reference, this website I think is handy: https://toyota-club.net/files/faq/10-10-15_faq_eco-class_eng.htm

Do we put the VII for Coupés?
There they are listed without it:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rolls-Royce_Phantom
But that's just Wikipedia, not sure it is more official than another list.

Also, should EWB really be part of the model name?

Probably yes - it's consistent with how we do all the RR Silver Whatevers longer versions, also Merc S-class, BMW 7-series etc.

I would put them because these models are attached to this generation of Phantom as shown here:

I've also renamed all the Phantom that didn't had a year, as it seems that they were all VII.

Not for this one:

For those of them, model is "Phantom II" (same vehicle):

For this one, model is "Phantom VIII" and year is "2018":

Would be good if an RR expert confirmed this pair as definitely "Phantom II":

http://www.imcdb.org/vehicle_1301224-Rolls-Royce-1934.html

^ Another beyond my pay grade. But I've cast some bread upon the waters to hopefully attract some passing experts. If nowt happens in a couple of days, it should probably go to RR unknown.

And VII for the previous one?

Yes.

For "2003-2014 Rolls-Royce Phantom", model is "Phantom VII".

Since when !? That car was always known as Phantom, just Phantom. As is the new one.

See the official website : https://www.rolls-roycemotorcars.com/en_GB/showroom/phantom.html

Or RR's media site : https://www.press.rolls-roycemotorcars.com/rolls-royce-motor-cars-pressclub/article/topic/5185/phantom/

No roman numerals anywhere !

And all the reference links in those two Wikipedia articles do refer to both cars as Phantom. Except three links - about the latest one - to Forbes, Bloomberg and Car Magazine UK. And just on the base of those three links, someone has decided to change the articles' titles ? Incredible.

I notice that only the Wikipedia articles in English, German and French have been retitled. The others are still titled "Phantom (2003)". I wonder if an over zealous Wikipedist will try to rename them too...

May I suggest that these renamings are absolutely ridiculous ? And that sometimes we should take Wikipedia with a pinch of salt ? And that maybe we shouldn't blindly obey JB007 when he asks for something ?

Previous ones were using Roman numerals officially?
I can easily rename back to the old name if needed. What do we use to differentiate the VII from the VIII? Just the model years?

Back in the old Rolls-Royce times, roman numerals were used on Phantoms II to VI. Since the BMW takeover, it's just Phantom.

A possible way to differentiate "7" and "8" would be the chassis codes, but I don't know what they are for the "8".

Or just put VII and VIII as part of the "Mark" field ? That could work better, visually speaking.

It may be confusing as why some use the mk field and some don't.
I'll probably just reverse to the old names them - just Phantom. But I wait a little in case someone has chassis codes to provide, it would be easier to set at the same time.

Next project, Chrysler LH cars:

All, except the first gen Dodge Intrepid, are "Built in Canada". From 1994-96, Dodge Intrepid production was added in the Newark Delaware plant, but all 2nd gen Intrepids are Canadian-built.

Chrysler Concorde:
http://imcdb.org/search.php?resultsStyle=asList&sortBy=0&make=Chrysler&model=Con- corde

Eagle Vision:
http://imcdb.org/search.php?resultsStyle=asList&sortBy=0&make=Eagle&model=Vision- &modelMatch=1&modelInclModel=on

Chrysler LHS:
http://imcdb.org/search.php?resultsStyle=asList&sortBy=0&make=Chrysler&model=LHS- &modelMatch=1&modelInclModel=on

Chrysler 300M:
http://imcdb.org/search.php?resultsStyle=asList&sortBy=0&make=Chrysler&model=300- +M&modelMatch=1&modelInclModel=on

1994+ Chrysler New Yorker:
http://imcdb.org/search.php?resultsStyle=asList&sortBy=0&yearFrom=1994&yearTo=19- 98&makeMatch=2&make=chrysler+&modelMatch=1&model=new+yorker&modelInclModel=on&modelInclChassis=- on&mk=&origin=&madein=&madefor=&role=

1997+ Dodge Intrepid:
http://imcdb.org/search.php?resultsStyle=asList&sortBy=0&yearFrom=1997&yearTo=20- 08&makeMatch=2&make=dodge&modelMatch=1&model=intrepid&modelInclModel=on&modelInclChassis=- on&mk=&origin=&madein=&madefor=&role=

(I don't think the concept or NASCAR versions were, but I can undo those manually, if they are included in the mass change)

The first generation 1993-96 Intrepids should be left blank (it's about 50/50 blank/Canada now). The only ones we can be positive about are verified 1993 and 1997. But we should probably have a discussion first before changing all of them.

Apparently, somebody went and added "Made in Canada for all first generation Dodge Intrepids. So now they need to be undone.

http://imcdb.org/search.php?resultsStyle=asList&sortBy=0&yearFrom=1993&yearTo=19- 96&makeMatch=2&make=dodge&modelMatch=1&model=intrepid&modelInclModel=on&modelInclChassis=- on&mk=&origin=&madein=&madefor=&role=

And I did find a Concorde with a US-made VIN, so those need to be undone too:

http://imcdb.org/search.php?resultsStyle=asList&sortBy=0&yearFrom=1993&yearTo=19- 96&makeMatch=2&make=chrysler&modelMatch=1&model=concorde&modelInclModel=on&modelInclChassis=- on&mk=&origin=&madein=&madefor=&role=

Here's a link to that page that I put those samples on, just for reference:
