Greetings to all,
I was wondering about the Iveco Daily "Mk".
And looking on Wikipedia, they don’t agree either.

Any opinions?

We also had that issue with the Ford Transit, if I remember correctly.
Such discussion would be better in a separate thread  Here it is rather for change requests once we know what do change

The 2019+ Mercedes-Benz/-AMG GLE is not called W167 but V167.
https://www.imcdb.org/vehicles.php?resultsStyle=asImages&yearFrom=&yearTo=&makeMatch=- 2&make=&modelMatch=1&model=w167&modelInclModel=on&modelInclChassis=on&mk=&origin=- &madein=&madefor=&role=

https://mbpassion.de/2020/09/aktuelle-lieferzeiten-der-modelle-in-der-uebersicht/

The Opel Tigra Twin Top is not MY 2004 but MY 2005, sold since late October 2004.
https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Opel_Tigra_TwinTop
https://www.opel-infos.de/modelle/tigra_b.html

I believe I somewhere read that we planned to do it anyway: renaming the chassis codes of the VW T-models since the T4 because 'Typ 2 / Tx' is not used anymore. So:
Mk 'T4' and 'Typ 70', for all T4;
Mk 'T5' for all T5, 'Typ 7H' for vans, 'Typ 7J' for chassis cabs / pick-ups. And unfortunately it is not MY 2003 but 2004. Some sources use 'Typ 7E' for facelift.
Mk 'T6' for all T6. Codes are'Typ SG' for the pre-facelift ones and 'Typ SH' for the T6.1, but VIN still uses 'Typ 7H'...
So 7H for all T5 and T6 vans I'd say.

The VW Lupo is actually 'Typ 6X', 3L was just an engine of the 6X.
https://www.imcdb.org/vehicles_make-Volkswagen_model-Lupo.html
https://www.adac.de/rund-ums-fahrzeug/autokatalog/marken-modelle/vw/lupo/1generation/

And to me it is still necessary to update the Golf VII: 'Typ AU' for hatch and 'Typ AUV' for wagon.
Because: 'Typ 5G' is the current Audi RS6. And it has nothing to do with the Golf VII.
And it is not an argument for using 5G, that many websites (that are not firm with VW) are using it, too.

The Skoda Scala has also code 'Typ NW' like the Kamiq, not 'Typ 5T' like the VW Touran II.

That's a lot of changes in one post... I'll check that later.

For the VW T4 and up, indeed since some time these should be changed, I'm surprised we never did it in the end. I could change for the T1 to T3 to use the mk field also then.

About the VW Golf, Wikipedia use 5G too.
For the Lupo they mention 6E rather than 6X, but anyway indeed 3L is not right I guess.

I'd think it would be good to use the current chassis code for T1 and T3 and this as Mk as well, to be really correct and uniformly.

Typ 6X is Lupo and 6E is Lupo 3L, apparently.
https://de.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/VW_Lupo

For chassis codes I go by what is used as chassis codes in the VIN (like we do for every single engine in Hondas...).

It does not especially work for all car makes the same way.

But for VW: digits 7-8 describe the vehicle.
Here is an explanation of VAG's VINs and a bunch of chassis codes included. Most of them we already use! Others somehow not...

Note that I'm not against changing it, I'm just surprised on why that other code seems to be used at various place... where does it come from?

I did the other changes you listed above, except for the Typ 2, I still have to do these (a little more work, I'll maybe do that later today or tomorrow).

Thanks for the changes.

As I read and heard there are internal codes for the whole model series and codes for the model/body style, so AU is whole Golf Mk7 series and 5G4 the 4-door hatch, for example.
https://www.gutefrage.net/frage/was-bedeutet-beim-golf-7--vii-das-5g6
Maybe, all in all, kept in perspective, it does not matter which code we use.
But it could get confusing for other and future models when we use sometimes the VIN-codes and sometimes part of the bodystyle-codes, even if both are used on many other webistes and sources...

Should this be Germany origin? It's basically a Mondeo I with minor change for US market.

From what I remember we decided to list it as US-origin as it was conceived in collaboration with Ford Europe, it is not just a rebadging of the European model. To be correct both models (Mondeo & Contour) should probably have dual-origin.

Should we change the tag of CMC Varica and Veryca to
Model origin: JP — Built in: TW — Made for: RC ?

Varica is based on CMC Minicab [U10], but CMC Minicab is based on the Mitsubishi's version
Veryca is based on Mitsubishi Town Box Wide [U60], but heavily modified the exterior

Also, some of the CMC Minicab chassis code were missing [U10]
https://www.imcdb.org/search.php?resultsStyle=asList&sortBy=0&make=CMC&model=Min- icab&modelMatch=1&modelInclModel=on

As for Veryca Magic, Magic is also part of the name
