Testing a new ad company

For one week we're testing a new ad company on the site.
Do not hesitate to report problems encountered (if possible with screenshots and/or ad URLs)

I'll try to see how it behaves with my old trusty Internet Explorer 9 64-bit

Note that it still redirects to the old as companies when it has nothing to show, so it may still display the same ads as usual.

From here it seems to load a little faster: unlike the other ones it loads the ad only after the page, without slowing down the page display.

Hi Antoine, my company has Ironport web sense filtering program install at their network department. I got this message (with their comment removed due to privacy here):

Do you get that on every page each time? Or only from time to time?
I guess I could try to block connexity.net, but the site do not seem to be an adware-type site so I'm not sure why they block that...

Strange, some server not probably configured. Do anyone else encountered that?

<spiteful tongue>If seen with Internet Explorer, is it really a problem due to the ad, or a "normal" browser reaction?</spiteful tongue>

More serious: as its seems to be a trouble with a javascript file, this must be a browser problem, not a server one.
The weird part is that the concerned website mainpage (pixel.mathtag.com) contains an automatic redirection to a gif image that should work on all browsers: even lynx (text-browser in command line, with no javascript support) is redirected to the gif, which means that it works with an html redirection, not with a javascript one...

@ rjluna2: are you still using IE, or are you testing/using another browser? Did you install some privacy oriented addons?

It can be a server problem if it sends the file with the wrong content-type, or if there is some weird content at the beginning of it: the browser can then think it is a file content type that should be downloaded.

Indeed. But there seems no to be no (more?) js file involved, as the source shows that there is only a 1x1 px picture in the browser, and nothing more (tested with Pale Moon -with and without js/cookies blocking-, Midori, Dillo and Lynx).
The use of a 1x1 px picture is another weird thing. I thought it was only used by spammers, and only during the old/dinosauresque era of the first generations of Outlook Express

That one happened on the IE9 64-bit version. The only add-on is the Adobe Flash Player and Microsoft Silverlight. I have an old 32-bit Java plugin for the IE9 32-bit for work use only.

On my laptop with IE9 64-bit running, the imcdb.org web page gets hanged until I blocked the Webpage privacy policy of this web site: ap.lijit.com

Adblock... I couldn't live without it. On many sites now they have pop-ups "We've detected you're using Adblock. That makes us sad" to shame the Adblock users. I'm guessing Antp will try that soon.

No, there is just a discrete "Blocking ads? :(" link where the ads normally are, linking to http://www.imcdb.org/help.php?supportnotice
I don't want to annoy visitors, but I want them to know that normally the site relies on ads.

lijit.com is the main source of ads since two months now, so if there is a problem with it now it is just an unfortunate temporary problem. Compared to the previous ad provider, it was less annoying when the page was loading: its ads used to load after the page instead of blocking it in the middle.

Was the ad visible then? Or were you directly redirected?
If the ad was visible, did it have a small red box in the bottom-left corner? (to know which one of the ad companies it was)

I'm afraid I can't remember what the ad was, but if it happens again I'll try to catch it.

It just happened again:
http://imac.ios.iv.qs.c.hoskbkkcm.com/FPlayer/UKXIND/auload.html?installer=Flash- _Player_17_for_Other_Browsers&browser_type=KHTML&dualoffer=false

I didn;t see what the ad was, because I'd scrolled down and a popup message appeared, which stopped me scrolling back to see the ad.
