My sightings from the last few months:

Golf Country:
https://i.imgur.com/wG3eCyS.jpg

These old Kias have really died out in Germany. Their appearances on the street seemed almost a little foreign:

Across the street from the Sephia was a Clarus, but that has been in my neighborhood for years so I didn't photograph it.

I've seen a few US-spec Atlases in town, but this was the first time I met its Chinese equivalent:

Heh nice, meanwhile in Iran this one is finally quitting production after 26 years this year.  And the same destiny awaits the 405!

Yeah, it's the cheapest (new, but honestly also used) thing that's not a moving coffin (that's what the Pride is 'nicknamed') on the market, they even made a facelift for it a few years ago. Fortunately they will be removing it from production this year too. Now probably the Samand and Tiba will take their place to be produced for the next 10 years with this international situation ....

If you want a new one, today it'll cost you around 5500 dollars for the GLX, the cheapest one

But the price is not all - masses of taxes have to be added, when you want to export it.

I know an English guy, who loves unknown freaky cars. He was so crazy to buy a Paykan Pickup in Iran and bring it to England.
He had to pay over 10.000 $ taxes and charges in Iran, and it took four days(!) at the border station to Turkey, until all paperwork was o.k. (and of course paid)

Totally unthinkable for us EU-Europeans
- since 27 years now we don't know such things as import taxes or charges any more.

Ahh wow props to him that's quite an accomplishment honestly!

It seems all the crazy taxes in Iran are export too; nice at least some relief if I move back one day and will think of something like buying an Elantra for 50K at least I'll know the tax is not more than the value of the car

Getting back to car shows I went to last year, we have the Red, White & Blueberry in Hammonton, NJ, the Blueberry Capital of the US. With the blueberry festival, they hold a huge car show. This was the first time I went, tons of cars.

My five pics from the first album:

Kaiser Darrin, incredible car:

1971 Pontiac LeMans sedan; haven't seen one in years:

1973 AMC Hornet Sportabout:

I finally finished all my pics from 2023, and have started working on this year's shows. First one was a local car cruise, their opening one for the year in April.

Whole album:
https://flic.kr/s/aHBqjBtvbP

Wasn't a lot of new cars for me, but here are a few:

1954 Chrysler New Yorker DeLuxe with some modifications:
https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/53773959054_9912b67291_b.jpg IMG_8228

Porsche 911, but I'm not sure of the year. Plate returns nothing, so I think it's older than 1981. And it has no fog lights, so maybe older?:

https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/53773838028_c6a8d529f7_b.jpg IMG_8233

1936 Oldsmobile Sports Coupe:
https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/53771607456_8a2676b7eb_b.jpg IMG_8204a

A cool looking 1964 Ford Galaxie 500 Convertible:
https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/53770700397_ed51944aab_b.jpg IMG_8208

And a Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Convertible by Droptop Customs, I tried looking this one up but couldn't find out more details. Usually I focus on the older cars, but since this one was converted, I found it interesting:

Working on my 2023 pics (I'm up to August), and just finished adding a show that some may have interest in. It was a Fire Muster, featuring antique/classic fire trucks and other emergency vehicles.

Nice presentation, night cub

Yep, the Aherens-Fox fire truck has the pumper at the front.

@Baube: Yep, you can find these headlights at the cowl area.

Same day as the last post, this one I arrived late, so it seemed a lot of the cars left. The venue for this one is kind of cool, it is a brew pub next to a local airport, with older factory buildings, so it feels very steam-punk.

The Glasstown Brewery Show:

Volvo 1800E:

1970 Ford Maverick:

Wasn't sure what to expect at the Roadster Rally on the Ocean City NJ Boardwalk, but there were some interesting roadsters hidden among the bazillion Miatas.

Full album:
https://flic.kr/s/aHBqjBv82s

Some of the standouts to me:

The star of the show was this 1936 Auburn 852SC Boattail Speedster:

https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/53798250160_1d5e80d6a8_b.jpg IMG_8862

Not one, but two Tesla Roadsters:

https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/53792474697_d3df631180_b.jpg IMG_8749

1955 Jaguar XK140 MC OTS:

https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/53802905449_1bdd7a1f36_b.jpg IMG_8993

And there were two MG F's, one a LHD, one a RHD:

https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/53801643962_78675b4773_b.jpg IMG_8967

And a pair of Morgans, a 1958 Plus 4 and a 1968 4/4:

https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/53800862790_98ed197e2b_b.jpg IMG_8914

I'll probably do another post from this show. There were a bunch of Austin-Healeys and MG's, and some other goodies.
