Cars you own?

Well, although we are married, about cars everyone makes his own. So I'm not really involved, nor it costs some of my money. It's all her thing. I was never interested to buy a new car, but she says "Once in my lifetime I want to have a brand new car and nothing worn out from others".
After a hard negotioation she also got a large discount (finally the dealer made the price, she could get via the connected companies of her employer. The amount of the discount is higher than I've paid each for my newest and most expensive cars ever, the Bundeswehr-Omega and the Vauxhall Vectra...
Sometimes during the time, when she was looking for it, she was angry about my lack of interest about it.
I only thought to make a trip to pick it up at the plant, where it will be mounted:

But they don't have a AutoStadt-like visitor center or even the possibility.
The most fascinating topic about that plant I've found in the last line of the Wiki-article - that they also make the CKD-kits for the

But it will ask the salesman, if he can dig for a set of badges:

I see a lot of those Tucsons around here (especially considering they only launched around six months ago) so some people other than Mrs Ingo must like them.

No, it's fine for her. Qashqai and Kadjar are smaller and make a less upmarket impression.

I have a hard time believing that a state of the art plant in Europe, belonging to a South Korean industry giant, also makes on the side a few CKD-kits of a rubbish chinese SUV, itself a copy of the early 1990s Isuzu Rodeo, for a north korean company.

Bad news about the Reliant
When my brother-in-law has started now the spadework for the restoration, especially the painting, he discovered, that the car once had a front crash and also the front frame is totally rotten. These damages were covered cobbled in a tricky way with glassfibre-mats.
He will do the repainting and he will keep the car (soon it will appear in a movie, chartered by his company http://www.kdk-filmservice.de/ ), and he want to keep in in roadworthy condition, but he dropped the idea of a full 100%-original restoration, because effort and costs would be inacceptable high.
He can drive it, as owns a red 07-plate for classic car collections, for which the vehicles, running on that number don't need a TÜV-inspection. Good for the Robin, as it has no chance at all, to pass it.

My wife's new car, picked up yesterday.
There will be a bit more chrome, a replacement of the plate-holder.
It will also get 19" alloys, but they didn't arrive, as the Italian maker still has company-vacations. So for the next weeks it will keep the winter tires on 18" rims.
No, it's not one of the "I buy your car"-cards in the window -but it would be funny to notice my wife's reaction on that try -, it's just the mirroring of a lantern
Yes, in the background left it's indeed an Opel Meriva A, still(!) in taxi-usage

In Bulgaria the age of taxi cars is limited to 15 years old.

I like them both, particularly the 1978. Don't see any dents or rust marks at all. Still rust free underneath?

i'm always amazed to see how big the 88 is compared to the Accord

No rust, the car has been between Los Angeles and Tucson AZ its whole life. The undercarriage appears to have been undercoated at some point too. There is some slight patina just behind the rear wheels though, barely visible at the bottom of the bodywork.

Yep
Thanks guys!

I bought a 2002 Volvo S80 2,0T. It replaces my E39 BMW 523 which started to have too many kilometers (370000km).

^ A pretty nice Volvo! Also what car is that in your avatar? Is it yours?
@chicomarx & Baube: Here's some pics of the Olds in the sunlight, but be warned - I took these before I cleaned all the dirt off her!

I was tempted to lead the CHP on a short pursuit, pull over and as the officer comes up to my window, play the CHiPs theme to see if he cracks a smile out of it
