The Passat/Quantum is a self-cobbled shitbox with a 1982-85 Quantum grille and headlights, with 1985+ bumpers and trim and ugly aftermarket repeaters.

I think that is a Passat just with the grille and headlights of the US version

Just back from our K 70-meeting in Gent/Belgium (where I'd been with my Vauxhall Vectra, as the evening before I've noticed, that the K 70-battery is gone). Of course I had always the interests for other IMCDb-ists in my mind

Recently we talked about that: one of the very ver last 1975-K 70 cobbled, with export-parts as the regular ones weren't available in the plant any more. So these caps (black ones covering the indicator-hole of the "made for I/N,DK/J-wing", chromated ones for covering the "Swedish bumper" (with the headlamp washer).
The car is interesting insofar, as it's the one and only known, which was officially exported after November 1974:



The rings around the headlights are grey, because the original V2A-steel ones ran out, too. So they took painted plastic rings...

P.S.Nearby the motorway around Antwerpen I passed two importers of US-cars. Surpringingly many new Dodge Ram were on their yard. Didn't know, that they are that popular in Belgium.

When I asked the driver, if the 236.000 km are original, he told me, that this T5 Transporter belonged in its first life to the leasing-vehicle-fleet of the German Army. Very typical for the Bundeswehr, that it is a real low-spec version. A K 70-fellow, who works at a VW-dealership, told me, that major customers as taxi-companies and authorities can order these special downgraded versions. So this 2010 VW T5 has manual window-lifters, no interior-claddngs in the back and no air-condition.

Small tour in Ariège this week-end, to help a friend finding a new home...
Amongst a impressive amount of Peugeot Partner I and Citroën Berlingo I (did PSA sold the whole production in Ariège? ), there was:
- a rusty UNIC Vosges P8R:

For this one, the "security system" (© Cougar Tim ) didn't sound, and seemed more wanting to come closer to catch some caresses:

- the last (or a lost?) car of a classic cars meeting that took place in Saint-Girons Saturday morning (we were there in the afternoon):


To be complete, I also saw in Saint-Girons a British Land-Rover IIA (late model, with the headlamps in the wings), a Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder and a hot-rod made on a "I don't know what"-basis.
But I was driving while crossing paths with the Land-Rover, and Lamborghini cars or hot-rods don't thrill me. Owners of Lamborghini just make me smile when they try to pass a speed bump: one can see them trying to look unshakable even though getting in a sweat about their car underfloor

Speaking of vehicles from Sant'Agata Bolognese, an already installed friend told me there were some Lamborghini tractors in the mountains. But I only saw a Ford 6600:

Of course, this panel is just there for tourists (like me...), as the street is now closed to traffic.

Like Renault 12, they were so much to wear huge antenna with "fox tail" in estates when I was young that it's still hard for me to see this "thing" as an interesting car. Or maybe as sociological stuff?

Two weeks ago, I was directly behind a Google StreetView Subaru Impreza for a couple blocks while driving to work in my Bimmer.

The next day, I was in my Cougar and ended up at a stoplight right next to a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS.

This picture is most certainly already worldwide known, but I found interesting this "American way of life" vision:

Back to the VelSatis subject, I don't find it so exotic/unusual yet. Despite the disappointing production numbers, you can meet them from time to time, BUT last time I saw something definitely rare... A VelSatis customized in the Fast & Furious alike style (well a budget version of the “F&F style”) – scary. No pics!
