The year I was born, there were a lot a great number one hits; I Heard it Through the Grapevine, Crimson & Clover, Everyday People, Get Back, Honky Tonk Woman, I Can't Get Next to You, Suspicious Minds, Wedding Bell Blues, Come Together/Something, Nah Nah Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye, Leaving on a Jet Plane, and Someday We'll be Together. In my case, among the usual European dullness, which look like that only "Nothing compares to you" and "Get up before the night is over" were broadcast on radio, almost only Germany stand out (negatively) with "Pump ab das bier" https://youtu.be/eXm_z8XnNLk (which anyway is a cover of Get up) and I have to thanks that I was born a week before "Me so horny" topped the hits charts in Dutchland. Seriously, what's wrong with you Germanic people?

Well, indeed there is a variety of German music - but it's questionable, what of it is shit, what is bearable and what really good. For me the very most stuff is in the first categories, but my taste is very widespread. Of course your examples are shit. I like trash, but then old stuff from the 70ies and not chavvy junk. Otherwise high-intellectual political chansons are unbearable either.
