I post here before doing the change, cf these posts in the non-unidentified thread:
https://imcdb.opencommunity.be/forum_topic-1987-90807-Non_Unidentified_Vehicles.html#p90807
Should we renamed GNK Defence to just GNK?
As before 1982 the name was rather GNK Sankey, name which is more used on Wikipedia than GNK Defence.

Not all should be changed.
SD is just for the 2000-2003, right?
The later ones are these:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kia_Cerato
for which LD is correct.
There are also many 2006 & 2008 made in Russia, are these correct with FB? Or is it also SD? Or is that something else?

"Navistar Defense" is the company, not the make. On Wikipedia they still refer these as just Navistar like https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Navistar_7000_series
And some still as International: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_MaxxPro
Maybe some should be changed then, but maybe not all

Vehicles for specific markets could be branded "Navistar" and vehicles for the general public could be branded "International".

they still specify: "The International M1224 MaxxPro MRAP (Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected) is an armored fighting vehicle designed by American company Navistar International's subsidiary Navistar Defense".

Designed by, but not sold by.
Like we have cars designed by other companies than the company directly linked to their make

Indeed that second image is from a Canadian magazine, but have you searched/found more evidence? Was that change consistent/permanent or did they use both names after that?

Indeed that article seems to announce its arrival
No commercial documents in French, though?

One conflicting example:
https://www.imcdb.org/vehicle_209445-Renault-5-1984.html
Is it an older model? Or a newer one with a modified badge?
Or did both 5 & LeCar coexist?

I'm not sure using "5" as chassis code is good, as a few of them have their real chassis code (R122-something)

It doesn’t seem so simple, it seems that for a period the names "5" and "LeCar" were conjoined in Canada.

Yes, I agree.
