The little red thing is a Fiat Gamine by Vignale, inevitably known as Noddy Car in UK.

Thanks!

I've never heard of it before and this is probably one of the only ones in the US then. The owner wasn't around the car to ask when I was taking pics.

I was in the queue of filling up my Civic when I spotted a rare(r) Honda... Something that @dhill_cb7 might appreciate. Unfortunately my picture quality isn't so good...

Coincidence, a scale model of that car, in the same color, has been launched a few weeks ago as part of a french "part work" series.

Today I spotted this 7/1986 Renault Express Break 1.1 petrol (passenger version). Sonetimes I still stumble upon Express vans, but passenger version are rare today, let alone so early ones. More than 350.000 kms at last inspection, running on LPG.

So a follow-up on the Vignale Gamine, another Flickr user messaged me about the car, he's part of a registry for them. They have 687 cars currently identified in 33 countries, but this was not one of them. So this makes 688, I suppose. There's a Facebook group for them, he posted the link on the photo on Flickr.

A 1951 Ford, like I have. I talked a bit to the owner, he didn't want to admit what kind of engine he had but a quick check of the gear stick made it obvious; inline four from a Volvo 240. "Better than nothing". I agreed.

Disgusting and absolutely not understandable - usually us Dodge/-Chrysler owners didn't take Ford for serious and make jokes about the cars and their owners.

The 9-4X was based on and produced alongside the Cadillac SRX compact SUV in Mexico, becoming the only Mexican-built Saab. Production stopped when SAAB went bust in 2011, with less than 700 made. There was a white Atlas Editions "SAAB Collection" partwork model - many/all(?) of that series were made by Norev.

So went to one my annual shows today, and the mood was a little different. It was one in a beach town, and usually there are lots of cars driving all over, but usually after the show. As I was pulling into town, I noticed that the crowd was much different, kind of a mix of Mad Max meets The Fast & the Furious, lots of small 4-cylinder street rockets. Lots of noisy mufflers, but is it the latest trend to have mufflers that sound like gunfire? Because there were several of them driving around sounding like they were backfiring all over the place. Very disconcerting. Maybe I'm getting too old?

The cars in the show itself were mainly the typical ones, more classic cars. But it was the ancillary crowd that never turned up like this before.

Follow up to my last post, so there was an unsanctioned event being held in Wildwood yesterday, called H2Oi. It was an event that was thrown out of Ocean City MD for causing all sorts of problems, and they decided to piggy back on the classic car weekend. And things got crazy when the sun went down. Many of the participants were street racing, causing multiple accidents. One accident an out-of-control car rammed into pedestrians and a building, killing two. Another involved a golf cart resulting in injuries. Glad I got out of town right after the show.
