^ A pretty nice Volvo! Also what car is that in your avatar? Is it yours?
That's a 1980 Dodge Aspen I used to own. It was my first American car and I drove it for three summers. I now regret selling it but I had bought a Continental Mk IV and there was no space or funds to have two old cars.

From now on i own (or my bank owns it) a 2017 Fiat Tipo 5-door with Park Distance Control, Cruise Control and Bluetooth. I will get it delivered on 15 December 2017.
Why do i write here even if i dont have pictures yet? Because i want to share my test drive experience.
At first the car did not stall and everything was fine. But as i was about to leave the car dealer i had to stop to turn right and drive up a small hill. So i put on the hand brake, took it into first gear and as the road was clear i let the clutch come. But i stalled it three times! The Clutch was already smoking! I was totally surprised. The car dealer came to me and said he will drive it up the hill for me. Slightly embarassed i explained that i am used to automatic and have problems with manual.
So my test drive went on and i wondered: What the heck is wrong here. After some twists and turns i figured it out. I couldnt put the stick into first gear! Everytime i tried the stick went into the third gear. No wonder i stalled it on the hill. Going up a hill in third gear is impossible.
I tried to get into the first gear over and over again. Almost felt like the car had no first gear. After several attempts i finally got into the correct gear but it was astonishingly hard to accomplish.
My question is: In this highly digital modern world we live in is it so hard to put a digital gear display into the car?! Had the same problem with the Fiat 500X i drove in January 2017. Is this a Fiat problem that its hard to shift into the first gear? The car dealer said its a normal problem with new cars. The first gear problem with the 500X was solved after i drove it several times and the shifting got easier with every mile i drove.
Get us a digital shift display Fiat, please!!!

My old 2001 9-5 SportKombi 2.0t SE is singing on it's last verse so this weekend I bought a new (new to me) 2007 SAAB 9-5 SportCombi 2.3t BioPower. I promised myself to never buy another SAAB but my girlfriend wanted a 9-5 so we bought a 9-5...

It was a stupid purchase from the start but I wanted a fairly modern car when I was commuting to 130 km one way a few times a week on narrow forest roads. It had lots of rust problems, I had to change the brakes, both rotors and calipers. Weld some rust in the trunk. New brake lines and some other minor stuff. One of the bigger stuff was the line for the servo steering. I got the old one out with a bit of a hassle but to get the new one in took a few days (!). When I was finally done I had to google to see what I did wrong. Turns out you're supposed to remove the entire engine! I got a little fed up with the car after that

My "fresh-off-the-boat" 2017 Fiat Tipo.
They gave me a "Nudelstrauß" from a local noodle factory as a present. Noodles = Italy. Okay, thats convenient.

Since I have the licence in 2011.
I had three cars.
The first one is one Peugeot 406 of 2000 (formerly that of my father).
It left with 350 000 km.
The second is Citroën Xsara VTS 2.0 HDi 110.
And the third and last (for the moment) is 2012 Renault Mégane Coupé 1.5 dCi 110 'Bose Edition'.
I have it only for 1 year.

New Saab in the family:
1991 Saab 900i Classic, 2 liter "red block" engine.
Made not in Sweden but Finland.(Some say better quality?)
Colour: Odoardo Grey. (named for the importer of Saab to Italy)
Relatively low km at 181,000. 300,000 km is the usual by now. No rust. The two main reasons I bought it.
Non-turbo, but that is a very breakable and costly piece anyway.
First owner according to the invoice was Cécile Rigolle https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0726801/ actress who played in mostly film and tv series from Belgium.
Then the negative: no service history. So first job will be maintenance, oil and filter, spark plugs, fuel filter, fresh coolant, brake fluid...
And a smell of fuel when driving. There's fuel dripping from the vacuum hoses, which must be a bad fuel pressure regulator. Difficult to get part, ordered one from the USA. Hoping that's the only surprise and the actual reason it was for sale.

Looks neat - a subtle colour and not a lot of flashy/racy bits from the zoomy versions. Sometimes the simpler versions are the most elegant??
Good luck with sorting the oily bits.

Yes, thanks. Maybe a small upgrade of the plastic wheelcovers to SAAB 9000 alloys, those wheels are interchangeable with the first gen. 900.
And when I picked it up the seller had painted the grille black... because he thought it looked better. Will have to restore that back to the original.
If anyone has the grille of a classic 900 laying around, let me know.

Isn't the only limitation that you can't use it for going to work/school ?

Yes, you're not insured when driving to work then. I couldn't use it as back-up car with oldtimer plates.
